Setting up your eMail account in your eMail program:
- In your mail program choose to set up a POP3 account. (This might be hidden under custom settings in ome mail programs.)
- Follow the account setup procedure for your eMail Program and use the access information sent to you.
- In order to set up your mail program to work with our servers, you need the following aditional information:
- Authentication:
In the 'username' field enter your full eMail address.
In the 'password' field enter the password given to you.
- Server addresses (see next section for protocols):
POP3: pop.fmnethosting.net
SMTP: smtp.fmnethosting.net
- Mail Protocols:
- Secured eMail communication (mandatory) :
- Outgoing Mail: SMTP protocol
- with SSL/TLS: on port 465
or - with STARTTLS: on port 587
- with SSL/TLS: on port 465
- Incoming mail: POP3 protocol
- with SSL/TLS: on port 995
or - with STARTTLS: on port 110
- with SSL/TLS: on port 995
- Incoming mail: IMAP protocol
- with SSL/TLS: on port 993
or - with STARTTLS: on port 143
- with SSL/TLS: on port 993
- Outgoing Mail: SMTP protocol
- Secured eMail communication (mandatory) :
The authentication method for all of the above is: Login with normal Password (sometimes also referred to plain text)
The outgoing (SMTP) connection should also use the same authentication as the incoming connection. Many eMail clients have a setting that uses the same authentication data as configured for the incoming mail connection.
